Overview

The National Library of Australia is proud to participate in Reconciliation Day. Join expert curators for a free guided tour of their major exhibition Wangka Wakaṉutja.
Wangka Wakaṉutja: The Story of the Papunya Literature Production Centre showcases material from beautifully illustrated books which were created by the community of Papunya in the Northern Territory between 1979 and 1990.

The community wrote, illustrated, and then printed more than 350 books for children in their own Pintupi and Luritja languages. The exhibition delights people of all ages as with illustrated stories of first contact, Dreamings, community life, plants and animals and more.

The exhibition is open and free to the public from 9:00am to 5:00pm on Reconciliation Day.

Guided tours are available at 11:00am, 12:00pm and 1:00pm. Bookings are welcome but not essential. Learn more on the National Library website.
