Event Information

Free public transport for people attending the event is available on all Transport Canberra regular bus and light rail services. Passengers simply need to tell the bus driver or Customer Service Officer that they’re attending the event if asked. Additional free shuttle buses will run on a continuous loop from 9 am until  4 pm between the City Interchange platform 3 and the visitors centre at Regatta Point.

People catching public transport are reminded to plan ahead with a Sunday timetable and light rail frequency in place for the public holiday.

For more information about free travel to the event and the public holiday timetable, visit transport.act.gov.au

If you’re driving, parking is available at West Basin in the Acton and Barrine Drive car parks, Allara Street car park near Civic Pool and the CIT dirt car park near CIT Reid campus. Parking will be free as it’s a public holiday.

Accessible parking is available in the Regatta Place and Commonwealth Park car parks. These car parks will not be open to the general public.

Some seating will be available but you may like to bring along a picnic rug of fold up chair so you can kick back and enjoy the lovely green spaces of Commonwealth Park as you take in the great entertainment and snacks from the food vendors on site.
