Celebrate National Wattle Day at the National Arboretum Canberra with a variety of activities for everyone.
Drop by Wattle Corner in the Visitors Centre to hear about Australia's national floral emblem and how wattle is part of Australia's story. Get hands on with displays of wattle to touch, smell and enjoy. Get advice on how to grow and care for wattle in your own backyard.
Come on a Wattle Day walk: See more than ten types of beautiful wattles coming into bloom and hear stories about Australia's national floral emblem on this special one-hour guided Wattle Walk in the Southern Tablelands Ecosystem Park (STEP).
Grow your own wattle at home: Wattle seed collected from the National Arboretum Canberra's very own Golden Grove will be available to purchase from The Curatoreum. Each packet of Golden wattle (Acacia pycnantha) seed has enough to grow ten trees up to eight metres tall.
Treat yourself or a loved one to an assortment of wattle styled gifts from The Curatoreum.
Enjoy the glow and scent of Australia's floral emblem in full bloom as you discover more about the significance, beauty and uses of Australia's floral emblem.
