Canberra Runners Half Marathon and 10km

Overview
With a proud history spanning more than 50 years, the Canberra Runners Half Marathon stands as one of the ACT's most iconic and enduring running events. First held in 1970, it has grown into a beloved annual tradition, showcasing one of Canberra's most scenic and enjoyable half marathon courses each May.
In 2026, the Canberra Runners Half Marathon will take place in late autumn. Starting on Flynn Drive at Lennox Gardens, runners will follow the picturesque cycle path around the West Basin of Lake Burley Griffin to Scrivener Dam and back. This undulating out‑and‑back course offers sweeping views of some of Australia's most significant national landmarks, including Government House and Parliament House. It's the kind of course where you don't just run a race — you run Canberra.
The event also features a 1.6-kilometre children's run for participants aged under 15, making it a true family day out. This year, runners can also take on a 10-kilometre event, offering even more ways to be part of this celebrated Canberra tradition.
