Overview

This is your entree to the wonderful world of lampshade making, where you get to decide the fabric, shape and size of your new lampshade!

Handmade lampshades have the power to transform ordinary rooms into cozy, welcoming spaces you adore being in. In this beginner-level event, you will learn how to make your own lampshade, in a series of well-paced steps suitable for all ages from 16 years up.

All materials are provided except fabric — and morning tea with homemade yummies are included. You’ll be taking home a lampshade you've made from scratch made using modern techniques and industry-standard materials.

Your teacher, professional shade-maker Kate Malfroy, has a background in upholstery, a love of beautiful textiles, and a passion for helping students discover a love of this great craft.
