Overview

Gather around the embers of a fire and enjoy a hot chocolate and damper while you listen to stories about the night sky by First Nations astronomer, Peter Swanton.

Learn how to read the sky with different eyes, discovering how the stars guide First Nations people at night, herald the changes of season and contribute to ancient cultural practices.

There will also be a chance to see the stars through telescopes and hear how scientific study is helping to preserve this cultural knowledge.

Suitable for children ages five and up.
