Overview

Celebrating the birthday of Canberra's largest suburb, Kambah Turns 50 is an initiative of Dr Louise Curham, a local resident who describes herself as an archivist, media artist and researcher. The project continues Louise’s work on the Kambah Peoples’ Map first created in 2023 and includes work by local artists Leonie Andrews, Dominic Bahmann, Ian Marr, Cathy Morrison, Bec Schaeffer and Barack Zelig. The exhibition also includes historic photographs and documents, archived community cookbooks from the ACT heritage Library, community photos from the 1970s and a collection of paintings celebrating Kambah created by Namdgi School students in years 8-10. The exhibition is free, and all welcome.
