Exhibition: Dark Matter 2024
Overview
This exhibition presents the work of 2024 Dark Matter Residents; Phoebe Kelly, Claire Paul and Sari Sutton. Over the past year, these artists have been working in the photo access darkroom, experimenting with material and ways of image making that constantly push what a photograph is. elusive.
Phoebe’s series of silver gelatin prints created from smartphone images occupy and unsettle the space separating the analogue and digital. Claire uses long-exposure pinhole photography and foraging practices to form images that embrace unpredictability and collaboration with the environment. Sari’s work imagines the invisible and mysterious force accelerating the expansion of the universe, evoking the celestial landscapes through darkroom techniques.
