What Lies Beneath

Lake Burley Griffin
Lake Burley Griffin

Overview

Growing up in Yass and learning traditional culture from his father, Don Bell, Tyronne has become a passionate advocate for the recognition of Aboriginal culture and language, especially that of the Ngunnawal people.
In this talk, Tyronne will reveal the rich history and remnants submerged under the lake, including First Nations artefacts, lost stories, and the use of stone tools before the lake's creation. Discover a deeper understanding of Canberra’s heritage and the significance of the land long before Lake Burley Griffin’s conception.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to connect with the past and gain a fresh perspective on the lake's ancient history.
