Overview

TraXion Big Band is one of Canberra’s best loved community bands, well known for their onstage energy, tight, professional sound, and challenging repertoire.

Since 2006 TraXion Big Band has been a hub for young Canberra jazz musicians to develop their craft. There have been a number of incredibly talented musicians who have played with TraXion over the years, many who have gone on to careers in the industry.

To celebrate the immense talent within the band, TraXion is hosting their second TraXion and Friends concert featuring bands who are a part of the TraXion family, as well as a dynamic set by the big band.

Hot stepping out from their local Canberra speakeasy, Zackerbilks are spreading their love of trad jazz to the world. Join them on a high-energy musical journey, that travels from the turn of the century to the 1940s. This dapper eight-piece group will have your toes tapping as they play a mix of trad to modern with a vintage twist.

From punk-folk to musical theatre, from indie pop to jazz, from soul to blues; the man gets around but rarely takes the spotlight, until now! Dylan is putting together an ensemble especially for this gig and we can’t wait to see what they’ve been working on.
