Overview

Transformation Studies brings together the work of Emma Bingham, Svenja Kratz, and Sarah Stubbs, exploring how materials can embody and convey physical and emotional memories. This group show investigates the transformative process, revealing how making captures the intangible through deeply personal and resonant acts.

Using mediums such as paper, clay, thread, metal, and cells, these artists examine the interplay between material properties and the body, shedding light on how physical and emotional residues intermingle and contest your sense of being. Their works explore transformation as both a process and a reflection, where traces of memory and meaning take form.

Inspired by the idea that understanding emerges through self-discovery and attention to the world, Transformation Studies invites viewers to reflect on how materials hold, shed, and evolve through the act of creation. This exhibition celebrates the intimate and transformative nature of artistic practice.
