Sophie Hutchings | Resonant Spaces

Overview
Canberra Museum + Gallery presents Resonant Spaces, a unique solo piano concert series celebrating the intersection of music and visual art. ARIA Award–winning pianist and composer Sophie Hutchings brings her deeply expressive style to the gallery, offering a moving interpretation of Sidney Nolan’s artistic themes.
Hutchings, whose music has been described as both propulsive and intimate, is known for compositions that beautifully reflect Australia’s expansive landscapes. Her performance will explore Nolan’s fascination with the natural environment, capturing its vastness and emotional depth through her signature sound.
Following the concert, Hutchings will take part in a discussion with curator Ross Heathcote, providing insights into her creative approach and the dialogue between music and art.
Resonant Spaces opens on 28 March 2025 with a performance by acclaimed musician David Bridie.
Tickets are on sale now, with discounted pricing available for those booking both concerts.
