Overview

In Nudes, Skye Thompson engages with the overlooked edges of cinema by foregrounding the transparent "leader" portions and accidental light leaks from her family's 8mm film reels. These traditionally disregarded segments, devoid of intentional imagery, are given an afterlife in Thompson's work. They are cut, spliced, and overlapped with film fragments that depict spectral impressions—soft hints of beaches, bodies, and flowers.
