Kevin Gilbert: NAIDOC Week Poetry Reading

Overview

Enjoy an evening of poetry by Kevin Gilbert surrounded by his artworks. The event will be introduced by Ellie Gilbert with readings by Gilbert family members, along with the artists voice recorded by CAAMA in 1990.

Kevin Gilbert, Wiradjuri, is recognised as the first Aboriginal fine art printmaker. Gilbert is also a poet, playwright and activist. He led the Treaty '88 campaign advocating for sovereign treaty/ies in the lead up to the Bicentennary and was instrumental is re-establishing the Aboriginal Embassy. He is also an award-winning author.
