Christmas at Lanyon Homestead

Overview
Christmas at Lanyon Homestead invites visitors to explore the homestead through free guided tours that reveal how a nineteenth century station family prepared for the festive season.
The homestead is dressed for an Australian Victorian Christmas. Handmade decorations, bon bons and festive table settings reflect traditions recorded in early Australian cookery. Visitors see how the Cunningham family may have arranged their dining room for Christmas, surrounded by the rural landscape that shaped life at Lanyon.
Lanyon Homestead is unique for its historic buildings, expansive pastoral setting and long connection to the Murrumbidgee. The Christmas displays offer an atmospheric way to experience this heritage and to understand how families once prepared for the season.
