Overview

Celebrating Multicultural Week, Wurrumay Collective is hosting a native food talk and tasting in store that invites the local community to connect with Country through flavour, story, and shared experience.

The event will celebrate the richness of Aboriginal food knowledge and highlight native ingredients that have been cultivated, harvested, and respected for tens of thousands of years.

The talk and tasting will explore the cultural significance of native foods, their seasonal nature, and the deep relationship between land, people, and nourishment.

Attendees will learn how ingredients such as native herbs, spices, and botanicals are traditionally used, not only for food but also for healing and wellbeing. Each tasting offered a sensory experience, encouraging guests to slow down and appreciate the unique textures and flavours that reflect the landscape they come from.

An opportunity to listen, learn, and engage with First Nations culture in a meaningful way. As part of Multicultural Week, the gathering will highlight the importance of recognising Indigenous knowledge as a vital foundation of Australia's diverse food culture, leaving guests inspired, informed, and deeply appreciative of the stories carried in every bite.
