This 4-piece band has a funky, rockin' bluesy atmospheric style, that mix original material with their own arrangements of some classic covers in their performances.
Dublin born songwriter and bandleader, Johnny, says his music draws inspiration from the blues and rock genres, quoting iconic Irish players Rory Gallagher, Gary Moore and English born Jeff Beck as some of his key influences.
Johnny has an impressive background as an international performer starting in the Dublin circuit in 1982. His credits include joining BB King on stage at the National Stadium in Dublin 1985, touring Ireland with The Karen Coleman Band, and The Rob Strong Band, touring Europe and Ireland and sharing The Gothenberg Rock Festival bill with such giants as Deep Purple, Georgie Fame, The Kinks and Zak Wilde.
Johnny moved to Australia in 2012, forming the Australian line-up of the Johnny Reynolds Band in 2014/15. The band consists of: Johnny Reynolds - Guitars and Vocals, Paul Callan - Bass, Bernie Keenan - Drums and Bob Micallef - Piano, Keyboards and Vocals.
The band released its latest album 'New Road' in 2025.
The host band will be followed by some of the finest musicians in the Canberra region and surrounds, jamming together for a fabulous afternoon of live blues music.
