Gallery of Small Things (GOST) is hosting its first show for 2026 with new works from NSW artist Painter Kiata Mason & Melbourne Ceramicist Hamish Bassett.

Anne Masters, Director of GOST has curated small paintings for the wall and miniature ceramic tea-sets for the shelf.

The exhibition invites the viewer to be drawn into a small gallery space and enjoy the intimacy of how little artworks can brighten up your home or workspace.

Kiata is an established still life painter who captures flowers, vases, wallpaper that make us feel like we are in a familiar setting. She has painted memories of when she was a teenager living briefly in Canberra from concert stubs to nightclub posters. Those who know Canberra well may find familiar items bringing back those nostalgic memories.

Alongside Kiata's works are Hamish Bassett's exquisite miniature ceramic objects. Hamish has previously shown at GOST. Anne felt he and Kiata would pair beautifully given their love of domestic life and capturing quiet moments of everyday use as well as contemplating perhaps a loss of connected moments. It's a lovely show not to miss!
