Overview

2026 Canberra Symphony Orchestra Kingsland Fellow Phoebe Mu makes her Wesley Music Centre debut with her second solo recital, Sounds of a Dream - Les sons du rêve: an enchanting evening of works by Beethoven, Messiaen, Liszt, Debussy, and Tchaikovsky (and more!), woven together by a rich thread of musical storytelling and programme music.

From the brilliance and fire of Beethoven's early sonatas, to the shimmering dreamscapes of Messiaen's Préludes and the drama of Liszt, each work invites you to see as much as to listen, painting vivid pictures and carrying you into worlds beyond the concert hall.

Joining Phoebe is Wesley Music Scholar Angel Zheng, who opens the evening with a beautiful duet programme alongside pianist Harmoniche Deng, featuring especially a world premiere of Phoebe's own original composition Colores Crepusculi (Colours of Twilight), performed as a four-hand duet.

Ticket proceeds and donations on the night go directly towards supporting and fundraising for Phoebe's upcoming exchange semester at Maastricht University in the Netherlands.

They hope to see you there for an unforgettable evening of classical piano. Don't miss out!
