Overview

Celebrate Australian ingenuity with a building block design competition inspired by the exhibition 'In real life: inventors, innovators and opportunists'.

Open to ages seven and up, the competition invites participants to create a design using construction blocks at home, which is then delivered to the National Archives of Australia for display and judging.

Entries may be submitted individually or as a team, with participants encouraged to create an original work or reimagine an invention or structure.

After dropping off the creation, visitors are invited to enjoy our family picnic day activities and explore our latest exhibition 'In real life'.

Then, don't miss the highlight of the day – a free screening of The Lego Movie (rated PG), complete with popcorn. Bookings are essential for the film screening as spaces are limited.
