Overview

Learn how to record your loved ones' stories and preserve their voices for the future at the National Library of Australia.

In this beginner-level workshop, learn the basics for capturing family histories through interviews. Claudia Craig and Gerard Callinan bring many years' experience interviewing and working with diverse subjects in oral history and broadcasting spaces. Learn the basic skills you need to record and preserve successful interviews, as well as share the pros and cons of easy-to-use recording technology.

Course materials and practical tips will be provided for conducting oral history interviews. This will be an opportunity to practice crafting great questions under Claudia and Gerard's guidance.
