Overview
Aristotle's (c350 BC) believed that the voice was an instrument with a soul. In the late 16th century Ancient Greek theatre inspired a gathering of musicians, poets and intellectuals in Florence to create the dramatic new musical form of Opera, incorporating music, poetry, theatre and visual arts. Salut! 's concert showcases music for voice and instruments that flourished during the Baroque period.
