Overview

Celebrate the 125-year anniversary of Australia's Federation through significant paintings, objects, and documents on display.

125 Years of Federation: Our Parliament and its Presiding Officers includes portraits commemorating important 'firsts' in parliamentary representation and exhibits highlighting the work of Australia's Parliament today. This display also includes 'The Big Picture' by Tom Roberts, depicting the first Opening of Parliament.

Reflect on the moments in the movement to federate the six British colonies, the 1901 celebrations following Federation, and key milestones in Australian parliamentary leadership.
