Overview
Exploring possibilities of movement through instant reaction as well as considered planning and creation with choreographer Anca Frankenhaeuser.
Anca performed, taught and choreographed with London Contemporary Dance Theatre for fifteen years, touring extensively throughout the UK and internationally. In Australia since 1990, she has taught extensively in dance schools, colleges and tertiary institutions, has worked on a variety of productions as well as co-creating and performing independent work with like-minded dancers, actors, singers, musicians and visual artists, including 11 productions with eminent sculptor Ken Unsworth.
Other recent ventures include a residency at the Sydney Opera House with TREMOR2, various performances with Living Room Theatre, Canberra Dance Theatre, the National Portrait Gallery and BOLD Festival in Canberra, presenting Long Life, Short Dances in Finland with her partner Patrick Harding-Irmer, an Australia-Singapore digital collaboration Bubbles, as well as collaborations with choreographer/ filmmaker Sue Healey, which include Moving Portraits at AGNSW, the short film Solitude, which premiered at The Lincoln Centre in NYC, and several projects with the late Eileen Kramer, who kept creating until her death at the age of 110.
She presently works as a deviser/director/choreographer/performer, as well as a lecturer/tutor of choreography and movement for actors.
