Enlightened: Event Sector Conference

Events ACT invites you to participate in a FREE half day professional learning opportunity for those in the events sector.

Be enlightened as you, learn how to market and promote your event, explore effective management of volunteers, participate in networking, exchange ideas, make new contacts, attend a behind-the-scenes tour of Enlighten to gather insights on logistics and operational planning and much more.

Events ACT, through its Event Development team, aims to achieve the following through the delivery of an ongoing program of event workshops and sector development opportunities:

• The opportunity for local event stakeholders to engage with ACT Government staff on sector-specific subject matter.
• Developing stronger sector-based relationships to assist future event planning and collaboration.
• Provision of event-related education and knowledge sharing opportunities to help build the capacity and sustainability of the local events sector.

Recent sector development workshops, tools and opportunities that have been provided for the local events and festivals sector include:

• Behind the scenes tours of Enlighten and Floriade 2024.
• An Events 101 workshop and a Sponsorship Masterclass delivered by Linda Tillman and Cathy Treasure from Australia Centre for Regional Events in May 2024.
• Behind-the scenes tours of Floriade 2023 and Enlighten 2024.
• A two-day Event Sector Bootcamp delivered by rEVENTS Academy in July 2023.
• The development of an Event Organisers Support Guide and an online Event Planning Toolkit.
